Luigina Sinapi, born on Sept 8 and cured on Aug 15th |
It is really amazing---A few weeks ago I published an article about the mystic Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich, and I had noted how she was born on September 8--the feast day of the birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The next mystic I wrote about--just two weeks ago---was Blessed Marguerite Bays, and once again, like Anne Catherine Emmerich, she was born on September 8, and also I noted that she was miraculously cured on the day the Pope proclaimed the Dogma of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, December 8, 1854.
And then came the article on the Servant of God, Luigina Sinapi, that I just published two days ago, and once again in this case not only was she born on September 8, she was also miraculously cured by Jesus on August 15, the Feast day of the Assumption of Mary into heaven! So here we have three mystics who were all born on September 8 (Feast of the birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary) and two of the three were miraculously cured on the two major Marian Feast days, the Assumption and the Immaculate Conception!
In regards to the feast of September 8th, we can recall also where on that day the Blessed Virgin Mary said to the Servant of God, Edvidge Carboni: “Today is September 8th, the feast of my birthday, my daughter; trust in me. All the graces go through my hands. This date is one of the dates the infernal enemy hates the most, because with my birth came also the salvation of the world.”
Another great mystic born on Sept 8th is Blessed Maria Droste (1863-1899)--the remarkable nun who promoted and obtained Papal consecration of the entire world to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
And so, obviously seeing the hand of God in the Providential choosing of these specific three dates, I was then therefore compelled to go through this website and gather all of the mystics who were born on September 8 and/or were cured on August 15th or December 8th. And here is the list:
Blessed Marguerite Bays, born on Sept 8 and cured on Dec 8th |
-Saint Catherine of Bologna, born September 8, 1413
-Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich, born September 8, 1774
-Blessed Marguerite Bays, born September 8, 1815
-Servant of God, Luigina Sinapi, born September 8, 1916
-Blessed Maria Droste, born on September 8, 1863
Mystics who were miraculously cured on the feast days of the Assumption (August 15) or Immaculate Conception (December 8):
-Servant of God, Luigina Sinapi--miraculously cured on her death bed of a stomach tumor on the Feast of the Assumption, 1933
-Rhoda Wise--miraculously cured of complex foot and lower leg fractures through the intercession of St Therese of Lisieux on the Feast of the Assumption, 1939.
-Blessed Marguerite Bays, miraculously cured on her deathbed on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, December 8th, 1854.
-St Stanislaus Kostka--On August 9, 1568, Stanislaus became very ill with a fever. To those around him he predicted he would soon die, and he then wrote a letter to the Virgin Mary asking that he be in heaven on the feast day of her Assumption on Aug. 15, just six days away. And so it was that at age 18 his mission on this earth was completed, and Jesus and the Blessed Virgin Mary called Stanislaus to Themselves on the great Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, August 15, 1568.
Finally, as a side note, St Therese of Lisieux was miraculously cured on another Marian date--that of May 13, 1883 which Providentially that year was also the feast of Pentecost, and also the great devotee of the Blessed Virgin Mary, St Maximilian Kolbe, died in the concentration camp of Auschwitz on the vigil of the Assumption, August 14, 1941.
And so we can see how God often providentially arranges significant dates in the lives of His beloved children--especially those dates that honor the most Blessed Virgin Mary. Blessed be God in His glorious Providence!

It is indeed amazing how God uses dates as signs to signify a deeper meaning and understanding.
Servant of God Catherine de Hueck Doherty, founder of Madonna House and author of such sublime books as "Poustinia" and "Sobornost". was born on August 15.
Good article. It is linked on Spirit Daily today. I also liked your newest article on the home page about how the story of how spirit guides of psychic mediums are often demonic.
Best wishes,
Joseph
This essay makes me feel bad, and not for the first time: My mother told me that I was supposed to have been born on September 8.
However she said I was lazy and arrived late, on 21 September, the feast of St Matthew (patron of writers, and I am one) but also in the Roman Martyrology the feast of The Prophet Jonah,, with whom I temperamentally and spiritually unfortunately have a lot in common--. :-)
The only thing is the Liturgical dates are highly unlikely to be the anniversary dates of the actual events. Some mystics give forth differing dates such as Mary of Agreda, who, I believe suggests the actual date of the Immaculate Conception was November 8th
Dear Anonymous and also Joseph:
Joseph:
I am glad you like the article I just published on how the "Spirit guides" (also known as "familiar spirits") of psychic mediums are almost always demonic. I think the story of "Uncle Ponto" shows this quite well!

While your "due date" of your birth may have been on Sept. 8, believe me when I tell you that you were born precisely on the date that God willed for you. Surely this is one thing that we can see through this article is how God arranges important dates for peoples (and also for nations), and the dates (or the month) often have a special significance.
For example, I was born on September 14--the feast of the triumph of the Holy Cross, I went on the first date with my wife to be on July 22--the feast of St Mary Magdalene (I was far from God and very much a sinner at that time, and was not even going to Church!) and we got married on Sept 19--the feast of Our Lady of LaSalette (of which neither my wife and I had no idea at that time).
Thanks for your comments and may God bless you and your loved ones,

Hi Glen,
This article interests me greatly, as does your personal comment. I have recently been compiling some dates of my own for an upcoming blog-post... which led me to your site.
We share two dates in common. July 22 is the date of my Baptism. September 19 is the date of my Confirmation. I had no idea that this was the feast of Our Lady of La Salette! Very interesting. I do know that it is the feast of St. Januarius.
July 22 is also the birthday of St. Margaret Mary, as well as the day on which Servant of God Sr. Jeanne Benigne Gojos was baptised. This holy nun prophesied about Sr. Margaret Mary's instrumentality in making the Sacred Heart better known (and loved).

Hi Ben,
It is great to hear from you. Thanks for your message.
Over the years I personally have grown to appreciate God's timing of specific events in all of our lives--most especially in the lives of the saints. Its fascinating to see how He arranges circumstances and events at specific and precise times and dates.
And speaking of which, just now I added Blessed Maria Drost to this article above, since she too was born on the birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Thanks again for your comments and may God bless you and your loved ones,
Glenn Dallaire
I know two people who are born on these special days. One on September 8 and two on August 15th, but although two of the three are Catholics, they do not take advantage and honor these days for which they could especially ask Our Lady's intercession. I will email them this page.
Thank you Jesus.
